Producer, recording engineer, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and vocalist Sandy first appeared on the Claremont, California music scene in 1961 with The Injectors, faithfully recreating California surf rock and roll. By 1963, he had relocated to Tucson, Arizona and was lead guitarist with The Twilights adding the music of the British Invasion and American Top 40 to his extensive repertoire. His Tucson experience continued with The Vibrations (1966) and several country music bands from 1967 to 1970, many of which used his guitar expertise at Copperstate Recording Studios. In 1970, Sandy moved to Phoenix where he was a key member of Larry Rickard and The New Breed, Just Us (working with John Hesterman for the first time), Atlantis (again with Hesterman) which featured Shay Dennis and noted psychic Dr. Richard Ireland. In 1972 Sandy was a founding member of TRACE (with Hesterman and drummer Rick Grammatico), a Phoenix institution until 1977, when he formed and fronted E-Z (1978). He has performed with Nashville’s Lee Dresser and Johnny Tillotson.
Sandy founded Desert Sound Recording Studios in 1972 and was owner and engineer of this successful studio until the late 1980’s. His clients included Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Twisted Sister, Steve Dodge, Jay Maynes, Charles Goss, Cosmo Topper, Midnight Blues Band, The Stevenson’s, Cese White (of KHAT-AM radio) and Hans Olsen. Not long after Desert Sound, Sandy founded Lamont Audio, LLC, now based in Gilbert, Arizona; a state of the art, analogue and digital recording facility with a client list any studio would envy. On the performance front, Sandy continued as featured guitarist throughout the Phoenix area from 1988 to 2007 with Two’s Company.
Sandy is a founding member of TRACE and is featured on guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals.
Producer, recording artist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer, guitarist and vocalist, John began his music career in Phoenix during 1964 as co-founder of The Metronomes, a British Invasion inspired band. A year later, he formed The Epics followed by The Britons (1966). From 1966 to 1973 John was a member of The Grapes of Wrath whose catalogue of recordings was released internationally during 1998, and is currently available on Amazon.com. In 1970 John was a founding member of Just Us (working with Sandy Lamont for the first time). In 1971 he fronted the show band Atlantis (again with Lamont) which featured Shay Dennis and noted psychic Dr. Richard Ireland. In 1972 John formed TRACE (with Lamont and drummer Rick Grammatico), a Phoenix institution until 1977 when he formed and fronted Eclypse (1978). During the 1980’s while living in Prescott, Arizona John was a featured member of Stumblin' Buffalo, The Chino Valley Rangers, Clare Willey & His Orchestra and The Skyliners. The 1990’s found John in San Diego, California where he fronted Deuce Coupe, The North Coast Jazz Ensemble, The Difference, Zachary Smith, The Legendary Belair Boys, The Legends (with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame designee Howard Blank of The Outsiders) and was featured with Backtrack and The Blue Current Band.
During 1995, John formed The Offbeats, a British Invasion trio that performed to an SRO audience at the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, England (2003) and has been featured at venues throughout the southwest. In addition, he has performed with British stars Billy J. Kramer, Gordon Waller (of Peter & Gordon), Tony Sheridan, Pete Best (the Beatles original drummer) and Jackie Lomax. During 2006 John co-founded RHM Music Publishing in partnership with British songwriter Ron Ryan (Because, Bits & Pieces, Anyway You Want It and other hit songs for the British band The Dave Clark Five). John also has extensive experience in radio broadcasting (KRVH-FM, KNOT AM & FM, KLKY-AM, KOWF AM & FM, KSPA-AM and others) as an on-air personality, program director and general manager.
